Joined by third Xcode 4.2 preview

Apple is now seeding the third betas of iOS 5 and iTunes 10.5, reports indicate. The latter is required to sync with devices running iOS 5 beta 3, which can include the iPad 1 and 2, the iPhone 3GS and 4 (GSM/CDMA), and the third- and fourth-generation iPod touch. A new iOS 5 release is also available for Apple TVs.

iOS improvements so far appear to be limited to the correction of some bugs. New issues have been identified as well, such as app scripts failing to run on their first try after a reboot or clean install of the firmware. Wi-Fi sync may be unreliable.

On the programming end Apple has pushed out two new versions of the Xcode suite. The first is the gold master of v4.1, meaning that an official release should be imminient. Developers can also experiment with Xcode 4.2 preview 3, which should solve trouble with Organizer, as well as memory use connected to IPSWs.
