Nike+ issues apologized for, new platform coming

A letter sent to Nike+ users from the VP and GM of Nike Running, Jayme Martin, has apologized for the recent problems the platform endured lately. The letter was shared by TechCrunch, and reveals the issues include log-ins, syncing devices, sharing runs and editing profiles. In light of this, Martin promises a new Nike+ platform is coming that will get rid of these problems and with new features.

The Nike+ page is also not fully compatible with Internet Explorer 9.

The issues don't affect all the Nike+ users, though it's enough to warrant the e-mail apology. At the same time, Martin said the slow logins were resolved and sync features were improved. A new platform is said to include better coaching, maps and challenges. The new platform will be "faster, more social and easier to use" and bring with it exciting new products and services.

Nike+ lets runners log their exercises with sensor readings such as heart rate and GPS signals from compatible gadgets, including the iPod, and through an app for the iPhone. This way, runners can keep track of distances, length, calories burned and more from each workout.
