3rd-gen Monsoon Vulkano hub now at FCC

Monsoon will soon release its third-generation Vulkano media hub range, as indicated by an FCC filing. Switching the design to a square rather than a rounded rectangle, the new models will carry on with the Flow, Lava and Blast names. All will continue to have the ability to stream any TV channel to mobile devices such as iOS, Android and BlackBerry devices as well as Macs and Windows PCs.

It's likely the third-gen devices will ship with Symbian and Windows Phone 7 support out of the box as well. The devices can record video and have integrated Wi-Fi.

The FCC filing photos reveal a side-facing SD card reader and USB port, while the rear panel gets an HDMI output, Ethernet port, as well as composite and component audio/video outputs.

When these begin shipping remains unknown, but it's likely to be before year's end. [via ZatzNotFunny]
