Whole host of Apple apps get updates

Complementing the introduction of Find My Friends and AirPort Utility, Apple has launched two more iOS apps, plus updates to several existing titles. The first of the new apps is Cards, a previously announced program that lets users insert custom text and photos into 21 basic designs and have real-world greeting cards mailed to addresses around the world. This costs $3 when mailing within the US, or $5 when sending a card to an international address.

The other addition is iTunes Movie Trailers. Beyond just enabling iOS access to Apple's trailer site, the app offers release dates and showtimes, and a Top 25 chart that groups together the most-watched clips. Whereas Cards is intended only for the iPhone and iPod touch, Movie Trailers is a universal app also including a native iPad interface.

The iOS apps in the iWork suite -- Pages, Numbers and Keynote -- have all been updated to v1.5, gaining iCloud features like Documents in the Cloud, and the ability to download or upload documents at icloud.com with a Mac or Windows system. Other significant changes include voice dictation in Pages and AirPlay support in Keynote, allowing presentations to be pushed to an Apple TV.

iMovie is now at v1.2.2, with iOS 5 compatibility and better support for videos imported from external cameras. Remote 2.2 mixes iOS 5 compatibility with "stability and performance improvements." Find My iPhone 1.3 incorporates options to find a Mac or request an email notice when an offline device reappears.
