Earpieces acoustically matched

Westone has expanded its earphone lineup with the 4R, a new quad-driver design that is claimed to offer a range of upgrades geared for audiophiles. The symmetrically-balanced armature drivers are connected to three-way crossovers to separate frequencies, ranging from 10Hz to 18kHz, while the earpieces are said to be acoustically matched to with a +/- 2dB tolerance.

The 4R also feature a removable low-profile cable, reinforced by Aramid fibers and constructed with ultra-low resistance wire. The cables are designed to wrap over the ear for improved comfort and isolation from cable noise.

Westone has yet to announce pricing details or a launch date for the 4R earphones.
