Features flat design, time sync

XtremeMac has begun selling the Luna Voyager II, a new alarm dock for iOS devices. The unit's signature element is a flat design, which should have several advantages such as making it easier to use while in bed. The dock is built to fit iPads as well as iPhones and iPods, and in many cases a person should be able to connect a device while still keeping a case on.

Speaker power is rated at 4W. Dual alarms are supported, using iPod audio, FM radio or a buzzer as sources. Configuration can done using either the dock itself or a dedicated app from the App Store. The app also simplifies FM radio tuning and creating presets.

To ensure alarms go off, the dock includes a battery backup; for the sake of accuracy, the dock syncs time automatically whenever a device is connected. People wanting to listen to music from a non-Apple device can use a line-in jack. XtremeMac is selling the Luna Voyager II for $70.
