Integrates with other Evernote titles

Evernote has released a new iOS app, Hello. The title stores information about people a user encounters. A key difference though is context, as the app places an emphasis on photos, times, and the reasons for meeting. When meeting a person, Evernote suggests handing a device over so they can enter their own data, and have a series of quick photos taken for use in a chronological, visual browser called the Mosaic. The app can also automatically email a person a user's contact info if they enter an address.

New contacts automatically create Encounters, which link a person's profile with a specific date and any photos or notes a person chooses to attach. Additional Encounters can be generated for subsequent meetings. The app moreover integrates any notes made in Evernote or Evernote Food at the time of an Encounter, which can be useful in cases such as business conferences.

All Hello data is synced with Evernote, which allows users of the latter to search for a particular person and find associated content. The developer does warn, though, that any material from Hello is currently read-only inside Evernote; this can be circumvented by using Hello to edit. Some other features of the app include optional linking of Encounters with calendar data, and the automatic association of multiple people with a given Encounter.

Hello is a free download. It does however require iOS 5, along with a camera-equipped handheld.
