1995 game still considered one of the best

Developed in 1995 for the SNES by a "dream team" of Japanese animation and game-development all-stars, Chrono Trigger has now been made available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, including two additional areas of the game not included in the original release. The graphics have been optimized for iOS without changing their retro character, and moving the game to a touch-based platform makes it easier to play.

The original game is still widely regarded as one of the best RPG video games ever created, including then-groundbreaking features such as multiple endings, a unique battle system, and "side-quests" that focused on character development. The game combines action and time travel in a quest to save a planet from global catastrophe.

The iOS version features two additional areas from the later Nintendo DS version of the game: the Dimensional Vortex, and the Lost Sanctum. The game now supports eight languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese (traditional and simplified) and Japanese.

The game offers various tech abilities, as well as the option to combine the powers of the party in two- or three-person combo moves to strike enemies more effectively. It requires iOS 3.0 or higher, and sells for $10.
