Gavio's The Pill gives iPod nano encapsulating speakers

Docking speaker system is medicine for the ears

Singapore-based Gavio will soon be offering The Pill, a compact docking speaker for the sixth-generation Apple iPod nano. What makes Gavio's solution unique is its form-factor. Owners can park their music device inside a sound system that resembles a giant pill.

The pill is a compact 5.8-inch speaker system. The iPod drops into a holder which then closes to virtually encapsulate the audio device. The pill provides controls to shuffle the music tracks or adjust the volume. The nano also can still be managed by its touchscreen, which remains accessible.

Although posted on Gavio's website, the company provides no detailed specifications, pricing or when the Pill might be available for order or pre-order. It appears that when launched, it will be available in silver on silver, white/red, white/blue, and silver/black color combinations. [via ChipChick]
