Earlier auction reportedly hit $26,000

A fourth-generation iPod shuffle signed by Steve Jobs is now back on auction at eBay, its seller remarks. eBay is said to have accidentally ended the original sale, even as bidding reached up to $26,000. Although the company reportedly apologized to bidders, a new auction was needed. Bidding on the Shuffle is so far back up to $9,995 with over nine days left.

The Shuffle was one of a number of gifts handed out for an Apple event where outside parties were invited to participate. After being asked, Jobs is said to have agreed to sign a small number of Shuffles brought by the seller and his peers. The Shuffle is otherwise unremarkable, just a 2GB orange model that has never been used.

    What's that apology worth?

eBay sounds as bad as the guy who got something personally from Jobs and is already eager to sell it. Way to go... Steve meant a lot to you, didn't he?
