Speakers charge wirelessly via induction

Behringer has expanded its audio products to include a wide range of consumer models, including the Soundscape Air dock for the iPhone and iPods. Electronista took a close look at the new dock at a special event at CES, where many companies showed off their latest accessories for iOS devices.

The accessory resembles a normal iPod dock, however the speakers are detachable and powered by internal batteries. This is also not a completely new feature, but Behringer has paired the wireless speakers with inductive charging for true wireless operation.

Users can leave the speakers placed on the dock base to use the device as a standard speaker accessory, or the three-inch speakers can be pulled off the base and moved to different rooms.

We were impressed by the Soundscape Air, though battery life and charge time are left unknown without proper tests. The German company is preparing to sell the dock for $129.
