Custom station and iTunes podcast sync as well

Online radio aggregator service Stitcher has updated its iOS app to version 4.8, adding an option for sharing and adding friends from people also using Stitcher or from Facebook. The program has also updated its UI, and now offers iPad users the ability to create and sync custom stations between iOS devices. Users can invite friends to join Stitcher, share shows, view listening stats and more.

The social aspects of the new version are entirely optional, and users can opt in or out at any time. Even if using the social services, users have control of what gets shared to whom with a swipe. Users can view friend profiles and recent activity, and get notified when invited friends have joined.

The UI update means that the Bookmarks item has been moved into the "More" menu off the dashboard (on iPhone) or into the gear icon menu (on iPad). In addition to being able to create and sync custom stations, iPad users also get recommended shows based on the shows that they indicate they like, and Stitcher can import and manage iTunes podcast subscriptions as well.

The free app boasts over 5,000 free on-demand shows and live local radio, plus premium content that is available via subscription. The program requires iSO 4.0 or higher
