Norton Antivirus 11 for Mac ships
Symantec today released a new version of Norton Antivirus (site not updated) that is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. The software features new vulnerability protection technology designed to prevent attacks occurring through applications connected to the internet. Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac also includes a sleeker redesigned user interface alongside enhanced performance. The software is priced at $50 (system requirements were unavailable).
Mac users get 'just-in-time' security with automatic updates from Symantec's global security network. Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac also incorporates discrete and less obtrusive security alerts, as well as automatic updates in the background.
Norton Antivirus 11 for Mac offers inclusive scanning to prevent Mac as well as PC-based viruses from spreading, performance engine improvements to ensure better compatibility with less impact on system startup, and the ability to access features via the Terminal using a command-line interface.
