SimCity ($10) brings the classic SimCity experience to the iPhone and iPod touch. Players are able to create their own city and design and plan it however they see fit. They can make decisions on budgets, taxes, residential planning and road construction in hope to turn a small town into a thriving metropolis. The game uses the touch screen for moving around the city and placing the various zoning options needed to build a successful city. The game features a tutorial, started cites and three difficulty modes for fun and challenging gameplay.Barfly (tavel guide) ($4) helps users to find the best bars and clubs wherever they are. The application uses the iPhone's GPS to find the current location of the user and then direct them to the nearest trendy bar. The application includes 750 of the worlds top bars each accompanied by professional reviews, pictures, directions and a link to their website. The list of bars spans over 120 cities include hot spots such as Amsterdam, New York, L.A. and London.
Loopy ($5) is a loop-based audio recorder that allows users to record a track, loop it and then layer additional loops on top. Finished pieces can then be saved as either sessions or individual tracks and then sent to a computer over a WiFi connection. The tracks can then be imported into GarageBand and used as loops to use in other recordings.
Motocross ($4) is a motorcycle racing game where players must climb steep mountains, master fast-paced hillsides, cross shaky bridges and perform jumps over large canyons. Using the built-in accelerometer a player can shift their drivers weight back and forth to help keep control. The game features 16 default levels of increasing difficulty and the developers plan to release an additional four levels each month.
DrumRoll ($1) is a virtual drum machine for the iPhone that features 8 large pads which allow uses to perform things like two finger rolls. The application includes three different drum kits each which have been recorded in high quality and the ability to play along with the music on a users iPod. DrumRoll also features a metronome and record and playback options with overdubbing.
