The Good

  • Splash-proof zippers, closed cell foam, good handles and strap hardware.

The Bad

  • Room for the laptop and not much else.

You\'ve bought your several thousand dollar PowerBook, with all the options, all your software investment, your data- you\'re carrying around a staggering amount of money and knowledge. Knowledge, that if you\'re like a lot of people, isn\'t backed up. The truth is, you plan on taking that precious titanium or aluminum PowerBook with you, out into the world. Bad things happen in the world. Painful things. The landscape is littered with people who own dead or damaged PowerBooks, or have the repair bills to prove they once did. You need to take protective measures.

AcmeMade has an answer. AcmeMade\'s The Slim is well designed, and well constructed. Not a stitch out of place, the Slim uses closed cell foam for padding, with a lined inside and tough outside. But best of all, the zipper, a normal place for liquid to invade your bag, is splash-proof. It has a rubber flap that effortlessly protects the zipper from any water that might get in. The handles are comfortable, and the shoulder strap has excellent clips.

This is a bag that is hard to talk about, simply because it\'s good at what it does- it protects your investment, and has one thin pocket for papers, a few cds, or other small things like the power adapter. You don\'t get to carry much, but what you take with you is safe.

The iBook 12\" fits within the PowerBook 12\" bag, although you\'d never know it from the good fit my 12\" PowerBook has in the bag. AcmeMade even warranties the bag for one year!

This is a bag that looks at home in the boardroom and the classroom. AcmeMade\'s The Slim is definitely a successful follower of the \"less is more\" school of design, and I can\'t recommend it enough!
